How do we meaningfully include all students in our classrooms and schools?

We must design teaching differently.

I’m Aaron, an inclusive education coach and advocate. I’m here to help you:

  • understand your students and their needs better

  • create practical strategies you can use right away, with individual students and your whole class

  • include all your students meaningfully in your classroom

I have 15 years of experience developing and facilitating engaging professional learning experiences for teachers. I was Executive Director of the Nest program at NYU, a fully inclusive public school program for autistic students from kindergarten through 12th grade, now serving 2,000 students across New York City. For several years, I worked with Danish educators and district leaders to adapt the ASD Nest model for the Danish education system. I’ve taught in the New York City Public Schools, at Hunter College and New York University, and I’ve provided hundreds of workshops and on-site support at dozens of schools to help educators working with students with a wide variety of needs.

Workshop Overview

Designing Teaching Differently Workshops are designed to provide teachers with a strengths-based lens and practical take-home strategies to make their classrooms inclusive and accessible to all students.

Each workshop will explore the essentials of inclusive practice and include:

  • an exploration of inclusion: discover what it means to create a truly inclusive learning environment

  • a topic deep dive: whether you have some background knowledge, or the topic is new to you, you will learn a powerful and memorable framework for understanding the topic we explore

  • tons of practical strategies: explore multiple examples of supports in practice, and leave with strategies and lesson supports you created in your hand (or on your laptop!)

  • structured collaborative discussion: dig in to the ins-and-outs, applications, and challenges of inclusive practice—engaging in activities you can take back and use with students

In-person workshops offer opportunities for movement, and free lunch and coffee in a comfortable environment

Remote workshops provide novel ways to engage online with more flexible options for participating from around the world!
